STAGE WORN: The 2025 AMAs Were a Fever Dream in Sequins

It was 99 degrees in Vegas.
Not a metaphor.. actual, blistering heat.
And yet, the stars showed up anyway. Drenched in sequins. Wrapped in sheer capes. Cinched into gowns that looked more engineered than sewn. This year’s AMAs weren’t about elegance, they were about endurance. If fashion is costume, this was survival wear.
Jennifer Lopez didn’t just host. She performed.
Eight looks. No repeats. All spectacle.
She wore:
A Michael Ngo crystal cutout dress.
A catsuit by the same designer.
The Diamond Gown by Bronx and Banco.
A cobalt column by David Koma.
A silver sequined stunner from Miss Sohee.
A final gold-trimmed dress by Defaïence that screamed closing number.
All styled by her longtime team, Rob Zangardi & Mariel Haenn. Say what you want—she still knows how to own a stage.
Others came correct too. My favorites from the evening:
Heidi Klum brought structure and sparkle with a dramatic train and boots. The glam held up—even in the heat.
Ciara wore chainmail by Bronx and Banco like it was second skin. No pants. No apologies.
Lainey Wilson, lowkey best dressed, wore Rahul Mishra, Indian couture meets country star. An embroidered suit, sheer cape, and signature hat.
Shaboozey gave us the best fashion rhythm of the night in custom Etro. Think leather vest, plaid suit, denim shirt—all in one look that made total sense on him.
Makeup stayed soft. Jewelry stayed sharp.
We saw dewy skin, coral blush, lip gloss, and shimmered lids. No chaos. No filters. Just heat-proof beauty that glowed. Most glam teams didn’t tag themselves—but the work spoke volumes.
The truth?
The AMAs might be losing their shine. The show itself felt uncertain, like it was trying to remember what it used to be.
But the stars?
Still shining. Still showing up. Still turning outfits into memory.
That’s what Stage Worn is for. To remember what they wore—and why it mattered.
Even when the carpet’s melting.
